Kinshasa, April 6th, 2025 (CPA) – Twenty-two (22) deaths have been reported during the flooding caused by the torrential rain that fell on Friday night in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the provisional toll drawn up by the urban authority, has learned on Sunday from an official source.
We are continuing with the evacuations and so far we have not recorded any other deaths », has declared Daniel Bumba, Governor of Kinshasa.
“It was since Saturday April 5th that we have begun to manage this crisis in Mitendi and Kimwenza.
We have seen the waters rise over the N’djili bridge, causing flooding in the Salongo district of Limete.
According to him, arrangements have already been made and teams are already evacuating children to camps set up with the help of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC).
