DRC: Call for the involvement of the Congolese Muslim community in peace efforts

Kinshasa, April 2nd, 2025 (CPA) – During a dinner with President Félix Tshisekedi on Monday, the Muslim community of the Democratic Republic of Congo was invited to become more involved in efforts of all kinds to restore peace in the east of the country, the Congolese Presidency said on Tuesday.
‘The entire Congolese population expects the Muslim community to play an active part in efforts to restore peace’, declared President Félix Tshisekedi.
The Guarantor of the Nation reiterated his call for the unity of the Congolese people to consolidate peace throughout the country.
Eid al-Fitr is the Muslim holiday marking the end of the fasting period of the month of Ramadan.
It is also sometimes called ‘Aïd as-Seghir’, ‘the little feast’, as opposed to ‘Aïd al-Kebir’, ‘the big feast’.ACP/
