Kinshasa, May 7th, 2025 (CPA) – The forthcoming adoption by the National Assembly of the draft law on ‘Police Programming’ will strengthen the security system of the Democratic Republic of Congo, said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior and Security, during an exchange on Wednesday with national elected representatives.
‘Jacquemain Shabani, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Homeland and Security, said: ‘The forthcoming adoption by the National Assembly of the draft law on police programming will strengthen the Congolese security system in the long term’.
During this meeting with the national deputies of the Kwango, Tshuapa, Haut-Lomami and Kwango provinces, the two parties discussed the security and administrative challenges facing their respective entities.
To this end, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Homeland promised logistical support to improve the mobility of services and police operations in the province of Tshuapa, with the forthcoming provision of riot buses for the police and vehicles for territorial administrators.
There are also recurring tensions between certain traditional chiefs.
